Bereavement Services
Hospice of Charleston provides continued support for family and friends following the death of a loved one. We also sponsor several bereavement and support groups for anyone in the community who has experienced the death of a family member, friend or loved one.
Support Group Application
Mourning to Morning Bereavement Center
The Mourning to Morning Bereavement Center offers a variety of grief support and grief education programs for the community. The center also provides grief support for Hospice of Charleston patients and their families through support visits, phone calls, support mailings and counseling. The center is located in the Hospice of Charleston office. Workshops and seminars are held at various times throughout the year. Grief Support Drop-In
Need someone to listen? You're welcome to drop by. Tuesdays from 10:30am-11:30am at the Hospice of Charleston office, 3870 Leeds Avenue, Suite 101.
Hope in Healing Support Group
This is an open, ongoing, supportive group of individuals exploring issues relevant to their progression through grief's journey. This is available to those whose loss has occurred within the last 12 months.
Thursdays from 10:30am - 12:00pm at the Hospice of Charleston office, 3870 Leeds Avenue, Suite 101.
Grief Journey
This is a six week, closed, structured support group for adults who have experienced a significant death.
Monday evenings at the Hospice of Charleston office at 3870 Leeds Ave, Suite 101

A Daughter's Grief
This is a seven week, closed, structured support group for adult women who have experienced the death of a mother.
Tuesdays from 12:00-1:30pm, beginning February 5, 2008 with future dates to be determined, by the Center for Women, 129 Cannon Street

Shannon's Hope
This is a therapeutic camp for children ages 6-15 who have experienced the death of someone they love.
The next Shannon's Hope will be held March 8th and 9th, 2008 at Camp St. Christopher, Seabrook Island. Camps are held annually, each March and October.

Spring Memorial Service
This is held annually in May at the Marguerite H. Brown Municipal Center, Goose Creek.

Candlelight Memorial Service
This is held annually in November on the Sunday before Thanksgiving at 5:30pm on Colonial Lake in Downtown Charleston.
Therapeutic Walking Group
This will be held at the Hospice Center in Mt. Pleasant at 676 Wando Park Blvd.

Storytime
This is an opportunity for children ages 4-12 years old to share in healing through grief-related stories. It will begin in April, 2008 and will be held on the 1st Thursday of each month from 4:00pm-5:00pm in the Children's Loft at the Hospice Center, 676 Wando Park Blvd in Mt. Pleasant.
