Piggly Wiggly donates $10,000 to Hospice of Charleston

Carolina Company recently presented a check for $10,000 to the Hospice of Charleston Hospice Center.
The funds for this contribution
were raised through the annual Piggly Wiggly Charity Golf Classic whereby proceeds are
distributed to various organizations located in districts throughout the company's operating area.
The Hospice Center is a 20-bed facility located in Mount Pleasant which features a retreat atmosphere that gives
families generous space to gather while supporting their loved ones. The facility features private bedrooms, a spacious
family kitchen, and sunrooms that overlook live oaks and gardens. The inpatient hospice center is an invaluable resource for
people living with end of life care needs and their families.
Piggly Wiggly Carolina Company Inc. based in Charleston, was founded in 1947 by Joseph T. Newton. The
company is the largest employee-owned, privately operated retail company in South Carolina.
It has more than 115 stores and over 5,000 employee owners throughout South Carolina and the southeastern
