Hospice Center News Release

Hospice difference

I went to the Hospice of Charleston memorial service Nov. 18. I have grieved for my mother now for two years and miss her every day. During her illness, Hospice of Charleston was there. They took care of everything, from medicine, nurses and doctors to clergy. That day at the lake brought all those feelings back. The memories were so vivid - almost like yesterday.

All the questions that one has about death and worries about who goes where in the afterlife are foremost in my mind. I will still grieve. That is what we are supposed to do when we lose a loved one. But the care and encouragement you receive from staff members, such as Greg Mason, help and comfort us in every way. Greg is a true hero to those who suffer, and who need God and spiritual enlightenment. He should be commended, as should all the others who do hospice work.

I am a paramedic who faces a lot of different life and death circumstances every day. I feel better knowing that my loved ones are where they are.

Greg Mason, please keep on doing what you do. As far as hospice care-givers, you do the same because those you come in contact with do make a difference. God bless.
