- Hospice of Charleston opened and operates the first Hospice General Inpatient Center in the Lowcountry for acute symptom management of a patient's illness.
- Home health service offers those facing recovery from an illness or injury to receive needed skilled nursing and rehabilitative care in the comfort of their home.
- The KidsPath program® program, staffed by specially trained pediatric professionals, helps children at risk of not growing to adulthood and their families with supportive services, even while they continue to seek a cure.
- Shannon's Hope Bereavement Camp, conducted on beautiful Seabrook Island helps children ages 6-15 who are suffering the loss of a loved one.
- The Mourning to Morning program offers open and structured bereavement services for all individuals in the tri-county area regardless of previous Hospice of Charleston association.
Hospice of Charleston Serves the Entire Community
- Through fundraising and community support, we care for medically eligible patients regardless of insurance or financial resources.
- Language Line-transportable interpretive services are available for non-English speaking households.
- Extended Call Center hours make core Physician, Nurse, Social Work, and Counseling services available around the clock, everyday.
- Medications, supplied by a specialized benefit manager, and medical supplies are shipped to patient/family homes reducing wait time and transportation concerns.
- Led by a Board of Directors made up of prominent local professionals who volunteer their expertise to ensure quality care.
- We are a preferred provider of hospice services for the Medical University of South Carolina and a member of the Carolinas Center for Hospice & End of Life Care, a North and South Carolina state association.
Our experienced, professional team includes:
- Two Hospice and Palliative Care Board Certified physicians offer relief from pain & symptoms.
- Palliative Care Consultative program serves Roper, St. Francis, Trident, and East Cooper hospitals.
- Certified Hospice and Palliative Care nurse practitioners, nurses, and nurse aides cover adult and pediatric patients.
